Illustration Friday: beginner
I am a beginner when it comes to the humble little vegetable called choko. I have a choko vine growing on my fence between my neighbour and I. My neighbour is trying to convince me that they are fantastic to eat when you know how to cook them. Apparently they taste similar to cabbage. My three little chokos have been sitting in my pink little bowl for weeks now and I glance at them occasionally and admire how cute their lime green skin sits against my pink bowl.Yes, I am a beginner to choko and tonight I may smother them in butter, garlic and onion and begin to experiment with this forever producing hardy vegetable that grows on my fence.
Really, really lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Melissa! Curious what they taste like in the end!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very tasty, I do not know, however, this vegetable. But I love the colors you used , well done!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that you should only eat them after painting them. Beautiful colours!
ReplyDeleteVery soft and inviting palette, Melissa. I like the shift of colors in the bowl. So do the chokos taste as good as they look?
ReplyDeleteChoko is a bland vegetable but when you fry it with garlic and onion with lots of salt it is actually quite tasty.... I think it will take on any flavour you hit it with.. I will be eating more choko from now on after all.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of it before either, but it sounds good to stick in anything if it takes on the flavor of everything else. Nice painting!
ReplyDeleteI've never eaten a choko. Your work has such a beautiful quality :)
